Celebrating Age With Pride

This month recognizes National Senior Citizens, and we believe all individuals should celebrate aging with pride. National Senior Citizens Day is recognized and celebrated on August 21.

If you have a senior person in your life that you love and appreciate, this is the perfect day to let them know how much you care and it is an opportunity to recognize their accomplishments. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed this holiday to raise awareness about issues that affect senior citizens and their quality of life. Today, seniors are still active in their communities as well as continuing to have a strong presence in the workforce. For all they do and have achieved for the good of their communities, senior citizens deserve our thanks!

Additionally, if you are a senior citizen, take time to celebrate aging with pride. Studies show that more seniors are still active post-retirement than in decades past. From volunteering for multiple charities, leading community boards to even remaining in the workforce longer, age truly is just a number!

While this one day is set aside for specific recognition, we always celebrate seniors, and we thank you for all your wisdom each and every day.
